Default WOODWORKING QUIZ for 30 June 04

    Good Evening Friends,
I am going to take it a little easier on you with this quiz.
What would be the length of the sides for a 14 sided structure with an inscribed diameter of 28'? Also what degree of angle would be needed at the intersections?

    Respectfully,

    Good Evening Friends,
Well, it appears I stumped you folks on this one.

The lengths of sides with an inscribed diameter of one foot for 14 sides is 2,7373" so for a structure of 28' the sides should be 6' 4 5/8" strong.

    Example 28' x 2.7373" = 76.6444. Now 72" = 6' leaving 4" .6444 or 5/8 strong.

Hope this clarified it for you. anyone wishing these charts of measurements just email me and I will send them to you.

    Respectfully,
    Ralph Jones Woodworking
