I've just been reading the guidelines on laying Compressed Fibre Cement sheets for my deck. They recommend using trimmers at all joints even if laying sheets longways over joists. My questions is, do I need to use joist hangers for these trimmers or can I nail them? I am aware that nails shouldn't be used in a weight bearing capcity. Any thoughts?
