How about a cnc router sub page

Title saids it all, whats the chances of getting a cnc router page next to the routers section and router jigs etc. A lot of people have started being adventurous and are getting into this field.

Hi Steve,
A few of us have been asking for a while to have a seperate CNC page. Bob (Crocky) offered to moderate it. There is plenty of interest but it doesn't show up here as it usually happens on PM's after reading one of our posts.

A post that I started in October 2005 has averaged 32.6 views a day. Greg posted on that thread that there was 4,000 hits in November/December 2007 so still a lot of current interest.

At the moment a lot of enquiries start here and end up on the American CNCZone site. As you know CNC fits well with woodworking and that interest in certainly growing. I'm not sure if the router forum is the place though as laser, plasma, milling and lathe interest is also strong. As an example I'm sure the woodturning members here would be interested in the homemade CNC pool cue lathes. Perhaps the machinery section might be a better place?

Hey not a problem rod, but got to give it a go every now and then, the only reason I went with cnc routers is becuase this is a woodworking forum wth a few outside interests. If we got a router cnc forum going, I dont think anyone would be fussed if it had lathes and mills plasma etc, anything that was done by the home handymand woyuld guarantee to peak even more interest than currently.

Pool cues would be very good, I know of lots of people "and I mean lots" that would love to have there pool cue engraved, Ive got my a axis set up for the router, but I still need a driver card for that particular axis still, but I have not got around the how to route around a curve or better explanation how to program writing around the circumference, so that way the axis moves the cue for you

Actually Im going to order another driver board today for that a axis and then see If I can work it out, better than keep putting it of and go Mmm cant work that out yet.

Just noticed they dont do single boards anymore, will have to live with a 4 axis board, and have a 3 axis spare. Mmm dont get the cnc bug, mm dont get the bug, keep repeating 30 times

OK I'll throw my hat into the circle too.

It has been demonstrated, if you look at the numbers, that there is a lot of curiosity here on the forum about the possibilities of CNC.

I certainly don't expect an Aussie "CNCzone" to come about, but to have a presence here would be good to pique the interest of lookers.

Perhaps we need to start posting, showing some of the CNC work being produced on our local homebuilt machines.

Especially of a wood work nature that forumites can readily relate to.

I have been tempted to post pics etc of my router but I think it would be more appropriate for say a Joe2006.

To show what can be done with woodworking skills and tools. As well as the quality of work that a good MDF machine can produce.

What do you all think?
