portable spa problems
Hi,
I just bought a 2nd hand outdoor spa (one of the "portable" ones....).
It has a pump (with heater), light, and air blower....
Now, we just got everything working (had a broken heater) on saturday, and were trying it out. After the spa had been on for a couple of hours, it started to do strange things (mainly to do with the air buttons).
either:
- we would push the buttons, and nothing would happen, then a minute or 2 later, it would do what we'd pushed.
or
- the blower would not turn off until the jets were turned off. Then, when the jets were turned back on, the blower would come back on full.
The next day, it all worked fine again......
Anyone have any ideas what this could be?? Is it possible something in the control box could be overheating? Should I be looking into maybe cooling it somehow (it has vents, but maybe it needs better cooling??
Thanks

The buttons normally work via air pressure from a small pneumatic hose ( bout 4-5mm) that connects the buttons to the pump/ controller housing. If the hose is old ( perished a bit) it can not work properly sometimes. check the condition of the hose usually blue or white, and check that its not loose.
If it is then a replacement part is not expensive nor hard to swap over, it's just hose and has no connections as such- just pull the old one out and push a new one in.If you dont play it, it's not an instrument!
