Nothing To Worry About
Our Youth Club leader, Keith told us to write to our parents in case you saw the floods on TV and are worried. We are OK. Only one of our tents and two sleeping bags got washed away. Luckily, none of us got drowned because we were all up the mountain looking for Adam when it happened.
Oh yes, please call Adam's mother and tell her he is OK. He can't write because of the cast. I got to ride in one of the search and rescue jeeps. It was neat. We never would have found Adam if it hadn't been for the lightning.
Keith got mad at Adam for going on a hike alone without telling anyone. Adam said he did tell him, but it was during the fire so he probably didn't hear him. Did you know that if you put petrol on a fire, the petrol will blow up?
The wet wood didn't burn, but one of the tents did and also some of our clothes. Matthew is going to look weird until his hair grown back.
We will be home Saturday if Keith gets the bus fixed. It wasn't his fault about the wreck. The brakes worked OK when we left. Keith said that with a bus that old you have to expect something to break down; that's probably why he can't get insurance.
We think it's a neat bus. He doesn't care if it gets dirty and if it's hot he sometimes lets us ride on the fenders. It gets pretty hot with 45 people in a bus made for 25. He let us take turns riding in the trailer until the police stopped and talked to us.
Keith is a neat guy. Don't worry, he is a good driver. In fact, he is teaching Jessie how to drive on the mountain roads where there isn't any cops. All we ever see up here are timber trucks.
This morning all the guys were diving off the rocks and swimming out to the rapids. Keith wouldn't let me in because I can't swim, and Adam was afraid he would sink because of his cast, it's concrete because we didn't have any plaster.
Guess what? We have all passed our first aid courses. When Ryan dived into the lake and cut his arm, we got to see how a tourniquet works.
Steven and I threw up, but Keith said it was probably just food poisoning from the leftover chicken. He said they got sick that way with food they ate in prison. I'm glad he got out and became our club leader. He said he sure figured out how to get things done better while he was doing time. By the way, what is a pedal-file?
I have to go now. We are going to town to mail our letters and buy some more beer and ammo. Don't worry about anything. We are fine and tonight it's my turn to sleep in Keith's tent.
Love as always
Your only son
Johnnie.

i heard another good one.
Dear mom,
I'm sorry I couldn't tell you this in person but I'm not going to be home when you get back from grocery shopping. You see I'm moving in with my new boyfriend. His name is Jack, he's 46 with long brown hair and wears leather jackets because he drives a motorcycle. We're moving in with his sister, her boyfriend and their 9 kids. They used to have cats but i don't know what happened to them.
Jack has this wicked tattoo on his back, skeletons and fire and chains and he says he'll take me to get one tomorrow afternoon. (Tonight we have to pick up the beer for his sister)
I just want you to know I really love Jack and we're planning on going to vegas to get married on the weekend, we want to start a family straight away, that means you will grandkids for christmas!! Aren't you excited. It's going to be a great christmas, I've invited Rhonda (Jacks sister) and her kids as well. Her eldest should be out of prison by then.
But really Mom, I'm next door helping Jenny watch her brother. I'll be home by 6, ready for dinner. My homework is on the table for you to check. Mrs. Mackenzie said I should leave you a note telling you where I am, so make sure you tell her I did, and I hope you'll remember this letter when I ask to get my ears pierced after dinner, It could be alot worse.
Love You.
Or something like that.
