New Member from Ontario Canada
Greetings to all and thanks for allowing me to join your group. I was on another site that for some reason went away and quite honestly I felt like a fish out of water. I'm a 77 year old gent and just started carving 3 months ago (at least that's what I like to call it) I've seen pics of so many wonderful carvings on the net and am almost embarassed to call myself a woodcarver, but hey, I'm having fun. I look forward to many wonderful hours of carving and want to take this opportunity to wish one and all a very Happy New Year.

but Hey

Please, ask away, and also show us some pictures.....NO!!! Not that sort of picturesNavvi

Welcome Cliff
Welcome Cliff,
How good you've found this site. The internet is a truly wonderful thing most-times. I've only just joined this site too, out of a need to connect with other folk working in wood. I have no doubt that it'll provide me with all sorts of help when I need it, but perhaps equally as important a great sense of community......be it a little virtual.
And as for concerns about your carving, my feeling is don't be worried about the outcome, but enjoy the journey. For me there's nothing quite like getting into the 'flow' of the actual making. It makes the spirit soar. And when you find yourself revelling in such a place the outcome of the finished product is a knock-on of that. When we're doing what we're passionate about, great things happen. This is what it's all about!! So I'd like to say enjoy, and don't put up any images until you're fully ready to do so. Sometimes an audiance is a bit of a killer, eh?
But anyway Cliff, Welcome to you,
Clare.

Canadian Cliff.
Welcome to this madhouse and its assorted menagerie of characters.
Like your carvings. They have rustic appeal.
