    Ray,
    Thanks for your thoughts.
It has been raining continuously since Thursday just stopping enough to regroup.,Friday I was in the shed and heard a few spots hit the roof ,and then it just crashed down ,I looked out the door and couldn't see ten feet up the drive way, just solid water.
Sunday it was mostly drizzle nearly all day
We had a upgrade to category 2 flood warning Saturday night .The road to The Katherine Gorge is cut in two places ,residents who live along that road were evacuated to Katherine High School on Saturday
The river peaked at 15 metres yesterday ,it has dropped about .4 of metre today but is expected to rise again tonight .The water builds up in the Gorge and takes 12 hours to get to Katherine
I was going to link to the river camera but when I checked the site it's not working, unfortuantely .
The Katherine river at 15 metres is a sight to see .
Normally during the dry season it is only a metre at the railway bridge .Today it was 15 metres deep and 250 metres wide running at full tilt.
At work today we were preparing military vehicles for rescue operations just in case .
I am on call also for voluntary emergency back up assistance if needed.
I just hope I never see another flood like the one we had in 1998 where the whole town was inundated.
It's soul destroying to see the faces of people affected this way and my heart goes out to those in other parts of the country who are going through floods, fires, cyclones and drought .
I really know what they are going through.
Please all stay safe ,property is replaceable but your lives are not.

Great to know all is well with you and swmbo oh and Hutch too

Thats some storm Kev 15m almost seems like the tide came in and Australia sinking.

I have been caught in a few nothing serious and had to dodge a few, seeing Tamworth's Peel River flood almost every year we lived there at country music time and surrounding districts

Watched water rise in Coff's main street as we headed back to the car from dinner, drove around the block to go back to motel and it had risen 1m thank goodness for Landcruisers.
