Default How to finish teak carving?

    Hi,
I recently bought this carved dog. It is an old carving with some cracks in it, which I don't mind.
However it is unfinished and everyone who sees it has to stroke it.
To protect it I want to finish it in some way.
I think the timber is teak.
Is there an oil which will not darken it too much? I am open to all suggestions.

    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers,
    Steck

    Thumbs up Carving Finish

If the timber is teak then a wax finish would be the most suitable.

    Default Wax On -Wax Off

I second that advise, the paste wax comes in a natural or in a few colors.

Do a small section rub it in, then buff it right out, then go on to the next section.

Keeping the wax warm will make it easier to apply and then buff up.

    Good Luck

    Default No Silicones...

    Steck,

Just be sure it does not contain "silicones".

They are pretty much all alike, but I'm sure others here will post their favorites.

    Good Luck
