Cabots Clear Gel Gloss finish
I recently renovated a kitchen and the bench tops were made with tassie oak, which I stained Jarrah. I finished initially with a water based satin finish but was not happy and so decide to use Cabot's Clear Gel Gloss. What a difference this made to the finished project. It was the weirdest feeling trying to dip your paint brush into a gel substance that then looked gluggy on the brush but when you applied it to the surface it was the smoothest stuff to feel going on the wood. Two coats gave a deep and rich mirror finish. Have others used this product and what do you think of it. It seems a durable and hard surface that can take some wear and tear.

Gels, also come in colors....
Many DIY use the "gels" because they can be wiped on with a cloth and they always look good when your finished, they are self leveling and the sheen is always the same throughout the finished pieces.
Some gels are fortified with polyurethane, but don't abuse the pieces that you finished.
Good Luck

Yawally,
Any chances of some pictures of your completed project?

I'm interested
Yes I'm interested in hearing how these products perform under an acid test or in the long term. I just posted a similar question about Minwax wipe on poly. I am chasing a good hard seal that I can apply really quickly with good results.
