Sanding Meranti
Hi all,
I have never had a problem with sanding meranti before but I have a piece that seems to get 'furry' the more it is sanded. Is there a way around this? Is this where you use a sanding filler?
Any advice appreciated!
Cheers
Anthony

Ants, this problem seems to happen with the lighter coloured meranti. Sanding sealer is the way to go. I've used wattyl, but others would probably do the job too. The sealer stiffens up the fibres and allows you to get a nice smooth finish...go for it.

Thanks Alexs,
I always had wondered what sanding filler was for as I've never had to use it. Now I see, I will buy some tomorrow and try it out.
Thanks again!
