Treatment for weathered verandah/deck?
I'm totally confused what treatment to use on my very weathered verandah. With so many choices of oils, stains, varnishes, acrylics etc and all quite expensive I want to be sure I make the right choice.
Our verandah is quite weathered never been painted tallowood. We live in the bush and get a very large amount of leaf fall, sap fall, seed fall, etc. The verandah/deck is not covered and during Dec/Jan can get heavy rainfalls as well as high humidity, high temps etc!
Oh and if that all isn't bad enough, about 30cm under the deck is colorbond roofing as the deck is above our garage. I think this means we can't really use many deck cleaners due to their acidic properties!
We last oiled the deck about 3-4 years ago with Feast Watson oil. No sign of that now and we are desperate to renew our very sad deck. We were kinda keen on a Spa n Deck product but we were told by people in the shop that when it wears you have to strip it and start all over again.
Can anyone suggest what we should use?
