caught
lbw
hit wicket
stumped
handling the ball
run out
obstructing a fieldsman
intentionally hitting the ball twice

No retired is not a form of dismissal nor is retired hurt. Dismissal is non voluntary. Rule 29 or 31 (forget which is batsman out of his ground eg the non facing batsman leaving his ground backing up and having his wicket broken. It is not run out because the ball has not yet been played at by the batsman. The common term is Mankaded (sp)
