Default New to forum - Hello All

    Hello all woodworkers out there!

I am relatively new with wood, (have made an octagonal poker table in the past though)

I am an apprentice electrician with energy australia in sydney, spend more time with metal than wood, just about to move into a new house, so desks, drawers etc are going to be made from wood!!!!

    see ya guys (and gals)

thanks guys, have done heaps of research over the boxing day holiday, started a chopping board, tas blackwood 600x360x45, not end grain now, saving that style till later.

In my research I have found Trend Timbers in Sydney offer good prices and services for timber products.
Are there any other good timber suppliers in Sydney worth travelling for to buy timber?

Am trying to make another chopping board similar to this one,
cost $249 retail, me trying to do much cheaper and with satisfaction money cant buy!

trying to find the metal spikes at the moment to hold a roast when carving on it.harder said than done, may lathe my own if I get stuck. anyone know where to buy these from??

    cheers

Energy Aust apprentices have got to learn about wood so they know which tree's they are chopping down, woodworkers aren't going to get because it goes through the mulcher.

Suggest you read this thread re-wood supply https://www.woodworkforums.com/showth...ight=greg+ward
