wet clay under house, restumping postponed for 3-4 weeks!
Our restumper has just done 1 day of work and then told us he needs to postpone the job for 3-4 weeks. The has been a bit of rain getting under the house, but there's no visible water on the surface. Apparently the jacks sink in too much to raise the house. It's is highly reactive clay (Seddon Vic) and we did once before dig down a foot in dry weather and find some water under on corner of the house.
The weird thing is it seems totally dry on the surface in most of the house, obviously remaining wet further down.
Any solutions or advice? Can I dig some deep holes and pump out the water? Restumping was supposed to be done by Christmas so we could lay the floor!
Cheers.
