Decking 101

HI All,

The good news is I have decided on doing a ground level deck around my house.

The bad news is I wouldn't have a clue what to do!

Rather than just ask a whole heap of dumb questions - is there a post somewhere that takes newbies through the basics?

Consider this as a newbie - I don't own a drill, a hacksaw or a saw - though that will change.

I am also thinking of using Batu - any comments on the wood would be great!

The only other question i had was putting a deck straight over paving - (though with the supports between the deck and the pavers)
