Default Help a newbie and even future ones?

There is much talk about the types of finishes available in this part of the forum.

Waxes, oils, shellacks, epoxies and so on.

All of which I have had no exposure to up till now and joining this forum.

For those who are unaware, until recently all of my projects included mechanical stuff and metal work.

So...to this end what I am proposing is maybe a seperate section, or just a thread listing all of the different types of finishes available and where they fit on the totum pole of products and finished results.

It would probably be beneficial to also list which applications they would suit best.

I am so new to this wood and timber thing I need all of the help I can get.

    Cheers
    HARRY

    G'day Harry,
there's probably what you require listed in the Polisher's Handbook....it goes through all the stuff you've asked.......and more, and is worth a really important place in your workshop

    Thumbs up Help

Well harry it's good to see that you have come over from the Dark Side.
You will probably be able to pick up the aforementioned book at Carbatec or perhaps Carrol'S.
