2 stroke - Blonde moment!
Hi everyone.
This is embarrassing but ....
I put 2 stroke mix into my 4 stroke Rover today by mistake. I didn't realize it and did a bit of mowing then the engine quit. I started it again and did a few more metres before it died again. I parked her up, thinking I'd have another look tomorrow to see what was up.
Suddenly I realized what I had done. So tomorrow I guess I'll drain the fuel and then I thought I might use some carby cleaner and squirt that in. What else? Do you think that might fix it up?
Oh dear. I feel sooooo stooopid!!
HELP!!

I would also replace the spark plug too. The oil in the mixture will affect the elctrodes on the end of the plug.
My mum did this to her new ride-on and I mean new. It only had 10 hrs on the clock. The mower bloke stripped and cleaned the carby, flushed all the fuel lines and replaced the spark plugs.Have a nice day - Cheers

just mt the tank fill with normal petrol and run should burn all the oil out after all the only diffrence is 2 stroke mixture has oil added, its a far bigger problem if its the other way round then the engine can seize

I like the sound of that - just putting in the right fuel and letting the residual oil burn off while it runs. I'll see how I go.
Thanks heaps for your fast replies.

Empty fuel out, refill with the proper stuff and clean your spark plug or replace it. I have done it too.
