I have used both Poly and Fibreglass in my own home and found the Poly more expensive but a hell of a lot easier to install. So I reckon poly would be the go.

Seriously though, the insulation method has to suit the climate and the building.
There's a terrific gov't source of info on the web somewhere; try a Google. If you can't find it sing out and I'll try to locate my hard copy.Cheers, Ern

So outback you are going to make an insulation choice on the basis of a popularity poll??

Sorry, only just saw your thread. Sarking is the best in my opinion but I think it can only be installed during construction of the home. It not only insulates your roof but it waterproofs it as well. But I guess this isn't an option for you at this stage. I would probablly go with bats.
Hey bitingmidge, did you know your avatar is moving?Reality is no background music.

No Ern, I never said I was going to make a choice based upon a poll. I never asked for advice on what I should use, or even what was more popular.
I have a much darker and sinister motive, I used a double blind with half hitch in the pyke position to achieve this.
The poll remains open for a week total. This gets my info in reasonable time, and stops some wally adding his vote in twenty years time.
Assuming I continue to get the same feedback over the next few days, I think I know what my choice will be.
Thanks for the help.Boring signature time again!
