    Default Sliding lockable door

    Hey guys
We are wanting to install a sliding lockable door in our laundry so we can have the dryer on and open the door. Also want one where our new deck is. I have foudn them to be quite expensive from most of the retailers.

Can anyone reccomend a place where I can get them, I could isntall it myself or if you just know of a place I'd love to just get it.

    Cheers

I think you can buy a bolt mechanism which attaches to the back of the door and engages in a hole drilled in the runner. Or you could just drop a rod of the appropriate length in the runner.

    There is this style

Good sliding security doors aren't cheap, but I guess then you only get what you pay for.
Why not flue your drier into the roof space or through the roof? That might solve part of your problem.

    Oohsam

As Jacksin says good sliding security doors aren't cheap but if you go ahead and you want to fit it yourself my advise would be to get a security door company to come and measure it and supply the door and all the components that go with it.

I used to measure and sell security doors and the measurements are critical and complicated on a sliding door if you don't know what you are doing.
