    Default Laying Crazy Slate

    Hi All

Help needed. Want to lay the Crazy slate in an area next to my driveway. Runs about 8m x .75m Any info on procedure and steps? Also what tools and other materials will I require? Any help on the material I will lay the slate into...I am thinking compacted sand or a mixture. The current surface is simply soil next to a concrete driveway. Any help appreciated.
Also anyone in Melb know good priced slate? I am looking at the OZZY GOLD straight from South Australia (20-30mm) or the INDIAN MULTICOLOUR random slate (200x200). Thx.

1st and foremost make sure you base and prep work is done well, this will determine how long it lasts for. If it's only for walking on give it a good compacted crushed rock base 75mm thick, or if budget allows concrete. Slate varies in thickness so best to lay on mortar bed on a 6:1 mix, then grout over with a 3:1 grout mix.

As for prices, give the garden yard a call they will have a range, local slates like Crazy Kruger or the likewould probably be cheaper than the Indian slate
