    Default Ball Park Extension Costs

We are looking at extending our house in Brisbane shortly, the extension will be a master bedroom with WIR and ensuite. Does anybody know what the costs/square meter are? I understand there would be a lot of variables however a ball park figure would be good to know.

Are you talking a slab / brick veneer extention or some sort of elevated extension? What sort of roof line?

Have a look at the Archicentre website - they have some costing reports on there.

I would say you are looking at $1500 - $2000 per square meter for a simple extension (this is based on what we were quoted). Ensuite fitout would be extra.

depends a lot on finishes, expecially with the ensuite included, if a client were to ask me an 'achievalbe' square metre cost, i'd suggest $3000 per square meter would allow for a pretty good finish.

But i all depends on the simplicity/complexity of the project.

Depending on things like type of construction, quality and standard of finishes, site access, topography, complexity of existing structure and supply and demand in the local labour market anything from $1.5K to $4K++ per M2 is possible. Sorry, but there's just no way to give any type of meaningful answer to this type of question.

Thanks for those price estimates. I would be guessing it would be on the higher side of those prices as our block backs into a hill which is quite steep and the extension would be built on a terraced section that is about roof level...
