G'day Matt.
As I said In the other thread. You can nail only....But, If it goes to hell in a hand basket, don't say your weren't warned.
You can please yourself which adhesive to use...Bostik Ultraset....Selleys Liquid nails for flooring, Sika T55J etc etc. Make sure it is a Polyurethane Adhesive and not waterbased.
If I was to install a floor over battens at My place, I'd be using Ultraset as well as secret nail to Hardwood Battens. You have Pine Battens. Which do you think has the most holding power. Pine or Hardwood?
But at the end of the day, you are the one paying for the floor...Go your hardest.Hooroo.
Regards, Trevor

I'd say you've already got the best, and that's why no one else has spoken up.

Me to. Hardwood battons, use spikes or splitz to fasten battens.Glue and nail flooring. Dont consider anything else.

Glue and nail. No doubt about it.
