    Respectfully,

Difference "in" or difference "between"? ..... I am a little worried about tricky wording after finding the doors were open on the silo.

    Stinky.

Well in a 100 yards you could have 100 barbecues, or 100 swimming pools.

A hundred meters could be for measuring all sorts of things, gas consumption, petrol consumption even, or distances between things (if they were odo-meters).

On the other hand had the question been 100 metres it would have implied a distance calculation (as did the topic!).

I think I found the trap Stinky, you just weren't looking in the right place!!

(I guess from the above you've gathered there is a small spelling discrepancy here as well Ralph, that's the way we distinguish between a measuring device and a unit of measurement!)

    Cheers,

    P

Paul is right, of course, provided that "in" means "between" in this context.

As to the "metres", "meters" issue, that argument has been lost as the schools now treat the 2 words as being interchangeable. Sorry BM, 2000 was the beginning of the new millenium and the "meter" is a measure of distance. You and I know both to be wrong but the rest of the world just won't agree with us.

Actually, 2001 was the beginning of the new millenium - assuming there was no year '0'. I believe that the naming of 2000 as the beginning of the new millenium was a conspiracy between Prince, his record company and Bill Gates.

Silent, you are clucking, read my post again.

The point I was making is that we who know that 2001 was the real start of the new millenium could not convince the 99% who thought otherwise.

    Default Distance Quiz Answer

    Good Evening Friends,
Yes in and between do mean the same in some cases, as this one was intended to throw you off, but I didn't catch anyone.

As already mentioned the answer is indeed 28.083'.

    I truly appreciate your humor.

Thank you all for your support.

    Respectfully,
