Wife trouble!
Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the lounge room and I said, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent upon some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

Hahaha me thinks she misses the point.
The point being that those things aren't "supporting life in a vegative state", they are THE REASON FOR LIFE!, a distinct difference.
