suggestions required for finishing a Malaysian cedar grandfather clock
I am currently building a grandfather click out of Malaysian cedar and I am starting to think of what finish I should be using. It is a nice deep red colour.
Current thoughts are 2 to 3 coats of Danish Oil wet sanding with 320g then apply a coat of wax to finish.
I may possibly use the UBeaut EEE before the wax.
Any suggestions/comments gratefully suggested. It is much easier to change my mind now than have to strip it off and start again.
I will be applying the finish to the back of the clock first and make sure that it is what I want before doing the parts people will see.
