Default Best way to pave up to a log retaining wall

    Gday all,
Because I'm running out of money quickly in finishing off my new house I have decided to do a log sleeper retaining wall running the 19.5m along the back boundary of the block.
I will have grass butting into the bottom of the wall for most of the length but I will also have paving 'butting' up to it. I'm wondering because the bottom of the wall is not in one continuos line what is the best way to finish off the paving? I've been searching the net looking for pics but all I find is grass or crushed dust/gravel up against the wall.

    Cheers

Leave a 30cm gap as a 'strip garden bed' and plant with clumping low plants?
Cheapest quickest way i can think of and will also break up the expanse of timber......

Maybe lay a mower strip of either pavers or bricks along the length to separate the lawn from the bottom of the wall

If it's a paving area butting to the wall, you can either do your cuts to match the wall outline, maybe install a small garden bed, or line the edge with river pebbles
