brown stain in fibro
i have a fibro ceiling in parts of my old house and there is this rather large brown stain in the hallway, which i assume is from a large leak i once had in the roof - either that or it was possum p**s. i cant remove the sheet as i have exposed beams in that part of the house and its a flat roof.
I have tried everything to cover it, from undercoat to normal paint. Even covered it with hairspray - was told it would work by a (alledged) professional painter Any tips?

Ceiling Stain
G'day Scubabob,
Sounds to me like you have had water leak in, wet the timber which has in turn stained the fibro.
Paint companies make 'sealers' for this type of problem. In the deeper recesses of my mind I remember a product called Petriseal - but I think that has long gone.
I reckon one of the better specialist paint outlets would be worth a try
