Cup mark left on fine buffing oil finish.
Hi,
I have some timber with a fine buffing oil finish and someone left a wet cup on the table top and it has now left a ring marking. How do I remove this? I have tried a damo cloth. Should I try metho or something!?
Thanks

I'd recommend 0000 steel wool with Mirotone Wax. Do the entire table top and the mark will go and the table will look better than ever.

Id try drying it out with a hot iron over a towel. sometimes they come good. If that fails, luckily its an oil finnish, Rub more oil into the surface with 0000 , Then wax after its dry

Rubbing compound
Another option, is using a rubbing compound, just be sure that it contains "no silicones."

I'd go for 0000 steel wool very gently, seeing how the mark comes off.
If it does, then refinish with some more buffing oil.Cheers, Ern
