    Default New or Recycled Flooring?

    Hi All,

I have an 1960's house that has jarrah flooring in the front part of the house. The back part of the house has been added on recently and currently has carpet. I would like to replace the carpet with the floorboards.

In your opinion would i be better to use recycled jarrah or new jarrah?

I suppose what i am really asking is if anyone thinks it will look 'stupid' if i don't keep the same theme going thru-out the house.

Also, dare i ask for a rough price per metre for the wood, laying and sanding and finishing in Perth at the moment?

I think you may be hard pressed to get 2nd hand boards to exactly match your existing, though I could be wrong. Even if you get similar, it would be difficult to make the join (depending on how big it is, where it is, etc) to be seamless. Really, it comes down to your own preferences. If you can get a close match in board size, colour, necessary quantity, etc, it may be worth it.
    Cheers

usually you pay more for recycled flooring, better of to get new jarrah, i would give you a rough price but i am in QLD and will be different!

    CAll David Bosch.
    Bosch timber flooring.
He is in the Perth Phone Book.

Recycled flooring may give you the warm & Fuzzy eco friendly feeling, But is looks like Schit. New is the way to go.
    Hooroo.
