Match red pine colour

Hi,
Has anybody got any hints for matching red pine? I have red pine skirts and arch's (restored) and am trying to get an approximate match for the (new) white and pink maple doors. I understand I'll never get a real match and that there's a lot of testing to be done but I haven't found anything close to what I want. Any suggestions for where I can start? None of the commercial stains look anything like red pine, anybody got a recipe for that I can use as a starting point?
