Default The story of Ralph and Edna

Ralph and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital. One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool. Ralph suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there.

Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom of the pool and pulled him out.

When the head psychiatrist became aware of Edna's heroic act he immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital as she was now considered to be mentally stable.

When he went to tell Edna the news he said, "Edna, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is you are being discharged. Since you were rationally able to respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of Ralph, I have concluded that your act displays sound mindedness."

He continued, "The bad news is, Ralph hung himself in the bathroom with his bathrobe belt right after you saved him. I am so sorry, but he's dead."

Edna replied, "He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry. How soon can I go home?"

Nice one Barry ... it did remind me of this one from
    the same era.

A bloke was locked away in an institution when the
    Governor made a visit.
The bloke said to the Governor, "See these gardens.
I look after them. And the office computer system
is all my idea as I designed all the software. And
I also look after the vehicle fleet as I service them
    and maintain all the records".
The Governor was most impressed and commented,
"You have done very well. When I get back to the
office I will take steps to have you released."

As the Governor walked away to his car he received
a whack on the back of the head from a flying brick.

He looked around and saw the inmate who called
out, "You wont forget will you".

I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

    Hi All'
Allan's one reminded me of the Irishman who caught his wife in bed with another man.
His wife leaped up and spread her arms protectively around the lover, and yelled

"before you do a thing, this man paid for our new TV last month, he helps with the car payments, he pays the children's school fees".

"Bejesus" says the Irishman, "cover him up woman! Before he catches his death of cold!"

    Cheers
    Bill
