My! What a touchy thread this has turned out to be.
How about this for an "out there" scenario.
The chasers could really be terrorists. They have the perfect cover now. Develop a "take the out of everything TV show" and then nobody takes them seriously enough to be a real threat. They are recognisable to the cops by now who lower their weapons when they realise it's only those idiots.
Then the dummy TV cameras open to reveal horrible weapons of mass destruction.etc etc etc....
The yank security, who have their sense of humo(u)r genetically altered, no doubt think this is quite a reasonable possibility. Hence, shoot now, too late for questions later.
End of problem.
Lots of fun isn't it.

G'day,
Arrested? They showed how farcical the secuirity lockdown is.
They showed what a total crock and waste of money that goes into "fighting terrorism" is. The new money is in putting up your hand and tendering as a secuirity adviser and making a motza really doing nothing to fight against nothing.
Flame me, tar me whatever - the only crime is the money handed out from the bottomless pit to fight against a threat which really I don't believe we have to worry too much about.
The other crime is the arrogance shown by world leaders that a city is virtually shut down for these people.
Rant over.
Onya Chasers.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying terrorism doesn't exist or a possible threat - but the way we're taking it as gospel? And the knee jerk reaction?

The Chaser are often very funny, I like the pursuit trivia and 10 questions in 10 seconds and firth is occasionally OK. But when they go into a store and trial out the product as its done in the ad, I have felt a little cold. Some of the young kids working look like they're shyting themselves.

I can understand the funny part of this, and I get the bit about showing up the security flaws, so well done for that. As others have said, the guards/police need their bums kicked for that.
We really should not be so keen to be see a precedent set that means laws for the masses don't apply to the media. If they had been protesters who did the same thing the poor sods would still be looking out of the holding cell windows.
If their intent was really about showing a security flaw they should have stopped once they had been given permission to pass, and not continued the charade into a dangerous environment. That was just a push for ratings.

I don't do any sort of drugs. Not even a Bex. Any! Well.........Except for the timber drug.
Not having a go either.
Sturdee.....I've heard ABC in the arvos say it. Twice now. There's not a lot anyone can do to stop the media saying whatever they want about anyone. Lindy in the afternoons.
As for drugs in sport....It still isn't right to publish names or a club name, how ever they did it.
CH7 were just trying to be the first... as journos do. It's pathetic. And it backfired on them.
Arrest the buggers....incarcirate them for many mnths and set an example. Goodbye chasers. Hello Spicks.
Bleedin...are my opinions too ideal or stern? Can't I say " No don't film me?" " No don't write about me?" Yes I can. And enforce it too.
Now lets get bk in the bloody shed.Don't pass them by! Be daring and caring!
Dampen their misery....sit with them and talk a little.
Buy them something to eat and a tram fare to a local mission.
I'm so lucky that I've somewhere to live and have family support.

A witness told Macquarie Radio that shortly before 3pm (AEST) today, he saw the plane enter restricted airspace over Penrith, in Sydney's west, before having flares fired at it by the two jets.
"This light plane came over in restricted airspace because of APEC and these two fighter jets come out in the middle of nowhere and were flying flares at it," the witness said.
"Right over the top of Penrith, it was amazing. I've never seen anything like it."
It was reported the plane had been escorted to Bankstown Airport and that the pilot was being questioned.
Macquarie Radio said it had unconfirmed reports that the city had undergone major lockdowns as a result of the security breach during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

The story I have heard was the cessna lodged a flight plan, had it approved, was delayed by a number of hours. He then flew out flying to the flight plan, and was forced down???
Me thinks someone other than the pilot is going to get their !@#$% kicked for approving a flight plan over restricted airspaceI may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

the Chasers should be congratulated for brining a bit of good ol aussie humour to the APEC farce. I mean really, who gives a crap about presidential tossers and why should the good people of Sydney be denied access to their city centre for a week just cos the worlds leaders make themselves an obvious target. have people lost sense of humor and a sense of a fair go....? The terrorist laws and security melodrama are an overkill and the chasers pointed that out, good on em. Personally i dont give a crap if someone with a beard kills GWB or Howie or the president of friggin China, I dont know anyone who does care....I like Putin of Russia because he goes fishing in Siberia, good on him, did he get a chance to go fishing in Sydney Harbour, no, why ? because security was too tight...the fish were frisked and ordered out of the exclusion zone... the money they spent on security, millions would have been better spent helping the poor..or homeless..of Sydeny bring humor back and lets all have a good laugh at the sorry friggin mess our lunatic leaders and gotten us into....... Another view is that GW has in his own way stopped many of his counties companies from operating for 4 days in Sydney due to his visit. Along with many other major world wide corperations a news item I saw this morning was urging all to return to normal ASAP begging for the loses they made to be made up.
