MY Deck PLAN need advice if im doing this right
MY Deck PLAN need advice if im doing this right or any good ideas.
Diagram is easy to read.
IS attached my plan of my Deck Layout
What size should my Pergola Stumps BE?
And what size stumps should i use for the rest of my Deck?
How do i attach the ledger to the brickwork of the house?
Joists will be 400mm apart
Distance between stumps???
Distance between first stump from the Ledger?
How far do the stumps travel into the ground?
Should I use concrete stumps or wood stumps if there going into the ground?
Will I have to runn a gutter off the far end off the pergola to the storm water drain?
i know i'll need a permit of some sort eventually when i finish my plans.
Is my 45sq meter DECK to BIG?
have any better ideas i should look at?

A few quick answers to get you thinking. How high will it be off the ground.
What size should my Pergola Stumps BE? 100 x 100 suits most THese must go down into the ground. (It can be a post directly above a stump) Otherwise the decking will have to support the roof load.
And what size stumps should i use for the rest of my Deck? - 100 x 100 suits most
How do i attach the ledger to the brickwork of the house? bolts through if you have access or dynabolts if you don't
Joists will be 400mm apart - why not 450 - 500 depending on decking save on the cost of joists.
Distance between stumps??? the closer they are the smaller your bearers can be. Most span tables start with spans of 1800 and up
Distance between first stump from the Ledger? the closer they are the smaller your joists can be. Most span tables start with spans of 1800 and up. Becomes a cost of smaller bearers/joists vs, more posts.
How far do the stumps travel into the ground? depends on the area supported by each stump. generally 650 deep. 5 sqm = 300x300. 10 sqm = 600x600
Should I use concrete stumps or wood stumps if there going into the ground? either. If using timber have them on stirrups.
Will I have to runn a gutter off the far end off the pergola to the storm water drain? for a roof the big, yes, or water tank. You aren't allowed to let the water run off your property.
i know i'll need a permit of some sort eventually when i finish my plans - Yes.
Is my 45sq meter DECK to BIG? depends in comparison to the rest of the house
