Staining and polishing PLY sheets

I was after soem advice on the best way to go about staining and polishing a sheet of high quality (AA or BB) quality plywood.

I have been using interior stain followed by 3 coats of estapol gloss with decent results.

I would like to get as smooth a result as I can

I see that you are in Brisbane - you can eyeball the product at Carbatec in Coorparoo and they usually have Niel's excellent book "The Polisher's Handbook" - a good read.
