    Default hinges

    Hi Guys,

a newbie to this side of the forum.
I installed a second hand solid timber kitchen at my place on the weekend and wanted to know if I can make my draw and cupboard hinges those anti slam ones.. i was told they can be clipped on?
    Is this correct?
can anyone put me in the right direction with who i need to contact or a manufacture that makes them? or anything?

    Thanks

I don't know about anti-slam hinges etc, they sound $$$$$. Our kitchen installer used small, clear, self adhesive rubber domes on all our cupboards & drawers. They work.

It depends on what sort of hinges you have.
There is a new style of hinge damper available for Blum hinges that clip onto the hinge itself.

I don't know of a product that you can retrofit to drawer runners though.

You might have some success with the old style hydraulic damper that can be fitted to the gable or top rail - although, as discussed in this thread,

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=50930

they are not specifically suited for use on drawers.

If you don't have Blum hinges than can accept the anti slam klip ons they are called "Blumotion", you can buy various other configerations that srew to the cracass etc. it is also not that difficult to up grade buy replacing all the hinges, they are not that expensive, but as Sybarite said you will have to replace the draw runners
