    Default Big Red Shed

Son & DIL are in Brisbane and are looking to replace front door.

    DIL has found
    www.thebigredshed.com.au
and has asked if I have heard of them.

Has anyone in Brisbane had dealings with them or can suggest other places in northern suburbs for reclaimed doors?
    Thanks

Yes they are quite good, but there are a number of other salvage yards around town but can't put my finger on their numbers.

I go there quite a bit (kelvin grove) Great for a poke about & ive always found them to be very easy to deal with. Man do they ever have a lot of old doors/windows etc in that place !!

Yes, they are probably the easiest place to go - the most organised certainly!

Theres other places, but I don't have tel nos, but you might find them in yellow pages, or just drive around!

There's one closing down in Cooparoo on the Southside, (but not far southside!) on Holdsworth St.

Another one just south of the river, at Stones Corner, on Beata St, another one not far away on Burke St, at Woolloongabba. Finally, there's Sid's at West End on Montague Road.

Ok, sorry they're all Southside! But not too far from the Red Shed.
    Cheers, Richard

THey do have a great range of door sand windows but seem a bit expensive for what they are especially when they get most of their stuff for free. Windows arent too badly priced but doors are.. try doors plus they have specials on most weeks and can grab a good bargain if youre lucky

    Thanks everyone
Looks like a trip there when I am in Brisbane next week.
Have already been asked to take a couple of tools up to fit the lucky door that is to be adopted.

After what it cost to strip, fix and repaint mine, next time I'll just buy a new one.

Try www.sidscolonialmaterials.com.au they have a great supply of new and second hand doors and windows with hardware to suit.
