Default Arnold De Vilbiss "Tuffy" Compressor

    G'day

This is the first time I have ever gone on one of these forums and I dont know if I am in the right place but here goes.

I wonder if anybody knows if these compressors or a modern equivalent are still made? Can anyone tell me are replacement parts available anywhere? What is the rate of output -CFM?

My reason for asking is because I believe they may be suitable for shallow "hooka" diving and as they are a diaphragm compressor using no oil in the crankcase do not require air filters therefore making a compact simple lightweight unit.

    Regards

    Jim

They are diapragm and should suit a hooka
if you got a long enough extension lead.

From memory you can remove the compressor unit from the tuffy.

There is also a GMC diaphragm compressor which might be suitable but I don't know if you could remove it from its mountings so you can couple to a petrol motor.

    Default Compressor

    Thanks Bob

Contacted GMC but they do not do a diphragm pump in either petrol or electric. Maybe another brand?

Used to be able to buy bare diapragm comressors from "The Miners Den" in Whitehorse Road Nunawading? (Melbourne) Don't know if they are still there.

Other places to start at are dive shops.
