A chainsaw reminder
Just a reminder that chainsaws don't only cut wood

G'day Fred,
I'm buggered if I can visualise how this could happen..........one hand on the trigger....'tuther hand holding the handle.

Noel, I have seen people use the smaller chainsaws, particularly the electric ones, one-handed .
You must be mad though!
I have one of those small GMC jobbies, great for cutting firewood into manageable blocks of about 12" long, very quiet and no pollution, can even do it in the shed when it rains.
But using it one-handed .

What about the brown coal burnt to make the electricity? ahhh, everything comes at a price....doh
There was some some story on the AS site about some Russian freak murdering his family and then decapitated himself with the chainsaw! Don't know how you'd manage that one.
Edit: here is the article.I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

A very stoopid way hands are cut are when arborists do the one handed drop start. Hold onto the starting cord T-piece, drop the saw and try to catch the trigger handle on the rebound! if you miss . . . er lots of red stuff.
Probably the most common hand cut is when the short bit of wood is not keeping still so the left hand comes off the handle to steady the wood and the saw bounces onto the hand. The only time the left hand should really come of the handle is to disengage the brake.
