Default Water Level Up 1% In Victoria.............

    Hi,

Melbournes water levels have gone up 1% in a week. So if we have 20 more (Rain & hardly any Sun - no vitamin D) weeks like this we will up to 50% (half full or half empty).

Bring on the rain. I needn't worry about the sun after all - being a light skin "POMMIE" after I just read:

"The Canadian cancer society advises that no more than five minutes a day of unprotected sun exposure will replenish vitamin D stocks for light-skinned people"

    5 Minutes per day..

Ok folks I have for sale licks, thats right, licks.

You can pay to lick my skin to get you vitamin D kick, I spend most of my day in the sun so I must have plenty to spare.

Only $5 per 10 licks, roll up, roll up.

Be carefull what you wish for, cause I think theres a lot of water coming your way there are already floods in northern vic, we just had it here in Newcastle the 100 year flood and there isn't that many things worse than cleaning up after 3' or more of water washes through your house and you have to wade out almost 1 kilometer in water up to waist deep carrying your kids in the middle of a city with no lights , pitch dark and hope that the way you are going will get you to higher ground as hapened to my daughter.
I hope your water storage does fill but not at the expence of lives or the sort of damage we have experianced.

Our reservoirs are full. In fact they are overflowing into the towns in the midlands.

    for pictures.

Remember the '78 Latrobe River floods? I was fortunate enough to start work there three weeks after them. One time in my life my timing's been spot on.

    Hi Jow,

Your not trying to rub it in are you. My family are there but fortunately they are on high ground. If they do end up having problems then there will be only ski resorts not covered. Very nice place Paignton (inc Torquay) - The English Riviera, I've spent many great holidays down there in my youth - I won't say how long ago that was.

    Cheers

Talking about ignorance. I was down the local sports club where I am a member - not an active one I must admit, well one is only born with so many heartbeats and I don't want to use them all up whilst I am THIS young. Anyway, I went into the spa and observed this woman in the wet sauna using the hand held shower head spraying all the seats which some people do but not for nearly 5 minutes. By this time my blood was starting to boil, so I just went inside the sauna and asked if she was the cleaner (I know it was not likely as she was wearing a bikini) and she replied no. So I asked her why she was wasting so much water just cleaning the benches given that we are on stage 3a water restrictions. She tried to say that she didn't understand what I was saying but I told her she would be banned from the club if she was seen to do it again and left the sauna. On entering the spa again a guy who had been in there before I said good on you mate. I then asked him why he hadn't said something himself but he said he wasn't into conflict (must be hen pecked at home).

I bet she won't (and isn't) the only one who thinks because we have had some good downpours this week that the restrictions will be over shortly - wishful thinking.

Well I feel better for getting that off my chest.

Metal head you say you asked her why and your interpertration of her repy was that she didn't understand , now for someone to stand and hose a seat for 5 minutes seams a a long time to me.................. did you have a stop watch ? or are you making a value judgement of the time perhaps she did spend a tad too long ensuring that the area was clean, how bad was it before she started to clean it up and what was the consumption of water used and what was the colour of the bikini
