Quote for air con zone motors
I recently had a air con repair person come round to look at my non working air conditioner.
It is a reverse cycle ducted system with 3 zones.
He informed me that all 3 zone motors were burned out. The company wrote back with a quote of $1280 to replace and fit 3 motors,1 transition box and 1 circuit breaker.
Does this sound like a reasonable price or am I getting dudded.
They also recommended changing to low voltage motors instead of the 240V motors that were originally fitted.
Any thoughts please
Thanks macca

You should be able to get it done for less than that. If the access is okay then it should be fairly easy.
I guess he didn't want to do the job.
Provided access good I guess 3 hours labour plus parts should see it done for around $900 depending largely on the specs of the dampers and the zone controller.

Macca2,
Get other quotes.
This bloke, Ian Butters of Air Central Airconditioning (here in Perth) ph 0419 905 418, installed the systems in my house. I don't know if he does repairs. But check him out if you so wish. I found him to be a very courteous bloke.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to try to claim on insurance for the burned out motors so they may dictate where I get it fixed.

Hi all
Get a quote from Season Makers, my hubby is Action Air except he subs out ducted systems to season makers. So he recommends them.
