I've been eyeing off one of these Graco Models.
Airless is definitely the way to go for acrylic paints like solargard.
HVLP is more for solvent based paints eg cars, kitchens. No painters use pressure pots to spray houses, either interior or exterior acrylic.
Don't buy the paintcrew it is a DIY model and the hopper needs refilling often. It is also PITA to clean. Buy a serious model and enjoy the investment.
Cheers

Try to get the biggest one for your money, believe me, none of them will live up to the manufacturers claims. I always like overkill. If you look at the Greco site I would be looking at the bit bigger machine like the Magnum XR9

BTW Make sure spares are readily available for the "no name" brands. and if you buy second hand, remember the parts for airless systems cost an arm and a leg.

If using different colours then you need to empty the hopper and wash it between each colour. The better models have a hose that dips into the paint can and are easier to clean.

I purchased the XR9 from Home Depot in USA recently for about $600US. I see they are seeling them in Oz for about $1800AUD, so am pretty happy with the saving. I have used it to paint the deck of my house, and am going to use it to do some roof painting and also try it out on interior walls & ceilings.

Pulse, I was in Anchorage on a working trip. Anchorage is great, as you don't even pay tax like the rest of the States, and the weak USD makes things even more cheaper. I go there quite a bit, and will be there again in a couple of weeks. I am thinking about bringing a pressure washer home this time, but they weigh nearly 50 kgs.
