Here's a tip I have worked out after the nice ladies at Laminex sent me their Wholsale trade price book with so much good stuff in it. Laminex Contour doors are the cheapest and if you pick a Formica colour you will save another $4 per door for a standard size of 770hx500w.

The Laminex book confirms the order of price for an example 770h x 500w Doors

    Contour Laminex Doors
    Formica Square ABS Edges 37.40
    Formica 90Deg Rolled Edges 49.50
    Laminex Square ABS Edges 41.80
    Laminex 90Deg Rolled Edges 44.00

    Vynil Wrap
    Classic or Bevelled Textured 60.50
Classic or Bevelled Gloss or Satin 85.80

    2 Pack Painted
    Colourtech Classic Textured 58.30
    Colourtech Classic Gloss 64.90
    Colourtech Classic Satin 63.80

Wood with 2 Pack Lacquer 30% gloss
    Tas Oak Veneer 78.10
    Tas oak Solid 99.00

All the variations of patterns and glass inserts etc are additional. Plain = cheap, complex = more expensive.

So for a good cheap job, pick the Contour doors and you should be able to find a colour or wood look finish that looks pretty smart and will last 20 years (if you are nice to your kitchen ).

    Cheers...DC

Laminex timber doors are good quality. They spray the centre panel first before the addition of the rails and stiles so that you don't see a 'line' when the panels move due to humidity changes.
