anyone live at Lake Maquarie-flood report required
yeh it's a little damp today is'nt it (i'm in sydney), we have raw sewage floating around here , and dunny paper !...
does anyone live in Lake Maquarie , if so i have reports of flooding and the lake level is 0.9m above usuall, can someone confirm how high the lake is at the moment/or was when it peaked ...and any other news...

Hey There.
I don't have any news from Lake Mac, so I just went and rang a couple of people who live there but no answer, which suggests they are not at home (obviously) and that there is no power (no answering machines).
A lot of Newcastle is without power, and word is it wont be on again in some areas for a few days.
I love Newcastle, but its not a great place to be right now.

I know this is a bit late but talking to f-i-l a lot of the lower areas of swansea had water lapping at their doors. My parents are right on swansea channel and the water had come up and onto the grass verge, but not the roadway.

thanks for the responce guys, we actually ended up going fro a drive up there on monday, the water had already droped but apparently it had risen about a metre, which but some home a slightly underwater, there was lots of trees down, boats wrecked and sunk...
here is the ABC newcastle site, there is lots of galleries on there if people want to take a look at some of the effects of the flood, some really good pics on there...Hurry, slowly
