Default Temporary Fire Panel for Cooktop

    Hi all,
I just found out it will be approx 4 weeks till i get my glass splash backs for my kitchen, I am trying to get my cert. of occupancy before then. I would like to install a temporary fire proof panel behind the gas cook top, the wall behind it is plaster board (brick vaneer). Does anybody know what i can use to do this? What are the minimum distances it would have to be to satisfy the inspection for cert. of occ.

    Thanks for any help, James.

Ask the building inspector if he will accept a cement sheet one.
