G'day all.

As a lot of you are aware, I'm a soldier that is currently working in Timor Leste (East Timor). I'm over here on a 12 month stint... and I finish up in late January of next year (if my trip isn't extended).

This country is the second poorest in the world.
Its closer to Darwin than Katherine is.
The people are pretty much great... but for a lot of reasons they need a hand to get ahead and make a better life for themselves and their kids.

I don't really want to talk about what I do 'personally' over here.... I don't feel comfortable "blowing my own horn" in public, but I need to say something to make you lot understand what I'm asking help for.

Basically, in my "spare/personal" time, I just set up businesses for local people that allow them to make their own 'average monthly wage".
I don't get any benefit from it... except that it makes me feel like a little bit of a better human being.

I'm asking if anyone would like to give me a hand in doing research back in Aus and on the web, and being a bit of an organiser for me.

I'm not asking for money.... I'm asking for more heads working on getting information.

Money is not the problem.... plenty of NGO's have more $ than they can spend.... the problem is getting people to be able to make a living for themselves... and this issue is not being addressed enough for me.

What would you get in return... just a warm fuzzy feeling.

My motivations..... well, I lived in Darwin and came over here in 1999. I decided in '99 that only distance and a nation's border seperates the people here from Australia.... quite meaningless things that don't really matter a pinch of the proverbial when you have a very desperate situation for a whole peoples... a situation that would be a national disgrace back home.
So, stuff the big picture... I just use my spare time to get families employed in their own businesses.

So, a donation of your spare time and mental energy is what I'm after...
