building new home
ok call me stupid but i have to ask how does one join wood is it bearers or joists to concrete stumps as my wife is laughing as i write this

Depends on what sort of stumps you have.If it is just a plain wire coming out of the top,you either bend it over and bend a nail over it as well, or you can buy a clip that slides on and won't come off, but they aren't used often. If they are threaded, use a washer and nut. If they have a wire loop on the side,then you have used a reblocking stump,and they attach to the side of the bearer with a bent over 75mm nail.
