An apochryphal variation:
Every day, at the end of his shift, a guy leaves the plant with a wheelbarrow full of scrap. The guy tells the plant guard that the boss says it's OK. The guard calls the boss, and verifies the story. Turns out he was stealing wheelbarrows.
