Default Help needed with Realtek problem

Often when I am online and not any particular website, I get a green Realtek screen pop up and tell me that a device or jack has been plugged or unplugged.
No matter how many times I click OK or Cancel it just keeps popping back up, until I close everything down and go off line.
Can anyone help me with this very annoying problem.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition

    thanks macca

Thanks Ashore. I had that DLL problem last week and fixed it OK. This is a different problem where I get a Realtek screen telling me something is plugged or unplugged.
I don't know if this is associated with the problem that Metal Head and others including me had, if it is it was not fixed by that download.

Sorry about that macca didn't read your post properly , hope the download helps, remember you can always go back in system restore to an earlier date and that might help as well

Macca, that happens when you plug something in, can you check all your connectors, reseat them, also take one jack plug & run it in & out of every socket a couple of times.
The sockets have little switches in them that can get dirty & make an intermittent connection. The sound manager software senses the loop through the normally closed switches & if it sees one open, it assumes you just plugged something in.

macca, I suggest running a registry check if you have a full use program, and delete redundant registry keys as they are causing conflict with the resent update you did ...from the previous problem.....if you dont have one, by all means pm me with your email address and I will send you a full version of system mechanic version 4, which besides fixing registry problems, does a whole host of useful tasks ..like defrag RAM memory etc...

Thanks to Manoftalent and Cliff for your help.
I have tried plugging a jack in and out of all the sockets, and I have also installed and run System mechanic.
Don't know which one did the trick, but at this stage all seems to be OK, so thanks again fellas.

Nope,,,,I spoke too soon. The dreaded green screen has returned.
Do I need Realtek, and can I turn it off.

I think there is an option somewhere that allows you to stop the notifications.
