Ceiling Cladding
Hi All
A question on ceiling cladding. I have uncoupled cathedral ceilings with large depth rafters. The intention was always to have tiles on top with their battens bracing the top if the rafter (combined with a whole heap of speed brace) ... that's now in place. And, underneath I envisgaed steel battens lined with plaster ... bracing the underside of the rafters from any twisting.
The question is what if I wanted to change the plaster lining for T&G pine panelling direct onto the rafters? I would have though this too would be sufficient (I guess I could add more speed brace under it if it was really necessary).
Any comments?

Hmm. I'm no expert in framing, but I have seen the application you propose, used many times. should be no problem.
