    Default Render Woes

A small electric jackhammer and a wide blade may be the answer. It would be almost impossible to flatten it out, so removal may be the answer. what a job!!!!

    Kind Regards Mike.

Try ingesting some of those crazy drugs and you may be able to live with it.

However if you find yourself having a bad trip, I suggest you get as far away from there as you can.

    Hi all

My suggestion may cost more but its heaps easier, there are a few new products out there for cladding - I have seen one that makes it look like limestones and there are those that are like strips of granite - I notice bunnings have them (looks like a stack of 20-30mm pce of granite, it comes in a tile like arrangement).

Otherwise you maybe able to have it rendered again, making it flat?

As Mike has suggested use a small jack hammer with a wide chisel. Cost you about $70 and some hard Yakka. If you remove the big chunks carefully you can finish the wall with Dulux render effect paint. I think that would be the cheapest option. Good luck...

Ok, hire from kennards, they have best tools for job. Show them pics and they will give you the correct bit to remove render. I know that as you work, if you whack the section with a small club hammer, it will come off easier when you use a 'kanga' or similar. As for re-rendering, see my post for rendering in this section and post me for any further info.
Best of luck. Many hours work, but you can do it.

It's not stucco, and I would think it would be easier to render over it if it is sound.

Like Tools I would be inclined to knock off any high bits and render over if soild. The Spanish look was all the go for a very short time.

have to say that i'm with tools and johnC - having just gone through the motions of chipping off quite a bit of render its quite simply a pain - if you are knocking off some high bits and you get some drumming (from disturbing the render) you might have to trace these till you get to a solid base - good luck

if you do go down the chipping off line get a few mates and have a back to the 70's party together with relevant drug fuelled mixes and cocktails
